Proceeds from the plate are used to provide research, conservation, and educational programs to protect wild dolphins in South Carolina. The cost for the plate is $60 every two years in addition to the regular registration fees.

INSTRUCTIONS
STEP 1. Download SCDMV Form MV-95 below: |
STEP 2. On page 2, select Protect Wild Dolphins in the $60.00 + Registration Fee Section
STEP 3. Turn the application into any branch office or mail the application with the required fees to: SC Department of Motor Vehicles - Specialty Plates PO Box 1498, Blythewood, SC 29016-0038 Specialty plates are issued to private passenger vehicles or light trucks with an empty weight of 9,000 pounds or less and a gross vehicle weight of 11,000 pounds or less. Depending on your vehicle's present expiration date, an updated tax receipt and additional fees may be required.
If your current plate is within three months of expiring, you should pay your property taxes and renew your plate BEFORE you submit an application for a specialty plate. Registration fees are itemized on the Form MV-95. |
